Home-Made Technology in Iran Meets Bottleneck Needs of Oil Industry

The knowledge-based companies are being established with the aim of increasing the synergy of science and wealth, development of a knowledge-based economy, materialization of scientific and economic goals, including the expansion and application of inventions and innovations, and commercialization of research and development results, including the design and production of goods and services in the field of superior technologies and with a lot of added value, specially in development of software.

Knowledge-based companies have been activated in various areas and caused the development and growth in those fields. Good things have happened so far in the field of oil industries, including the reduction of imports related to the industry's needs for manufacturing goods.

A new perspective is replacing the old equipment in the oil industry which has opened the door to more innovations and the Iran-made equipment and innovations, new methods and advanced technologies are used to meet the needs of the oil industry.

Using the power of knowledge-based companies with the aim of increasing production and the added value of manufactured products in this field and boosting investment in the downstream and upstream sectors of the oil and gas industry are important issues that need more attention. Currently, more than 800 knowledge-based companies are operating in the oil and energy sectors which can promote innovation to this arena.

Also, the knowledge-based companies can take effective steps to settle the technological problems in the oil wells and reservoirs. In other issues, including new desalination technologies, special plans should also be made in cooperation with knowledge-based companies.

Meantime, adopting effective measures to improve and increase oil production by using the capacity of knowledge-based companies in the required fields, including two-phase pumps, industrial wastewater treatment, and pipelines, is possible.

Iran has been experiencing a threefold growth of knowledge-based companies since beginning of the current year (starting March 21, 2022), a report said.

Based on the official figures, total number of Iran's knowledge-based companies has surpassed 7,312 which says the country has been witnessing a threefold growth in this regard.
