Iranian Essential Oils Find Way to European Markets
“Many herbal products of our country were exported in raw form to foreign countries, and therefore, we launched a special production line with the help of the engineering team of the company and created a special essential oil extraction process in the country to extract essential oils from various plants and gums,” Zhaleh Mohseni Araqi, the managing director of the company, said.
“We have been able to reduce the essential oil extraction time from 15 hours to 2 hours and also increased the purity level of essential oils to over 99.5%,” she added.
Noting that at present, in addition to Iran-grown plants, certain plants from other countries are also included in the essential oil extraction process, Mohseni Araqi said, “Among these plants mention can be made of nutmeg or cinnamon. We also process all kinds of gums, including Anghuzeh (hing) and Barijeh.”
She referred to the exports of her company to foreign countries, and said, “Countries like France and the Persian Gulf littoral states are among the customers of our company, and we are an export-oriented firm in general.”
In a relevant development in the essential oil extraction industry, a technological company in Ardabil province in Northwestern Iran manufactured a new device which can extract essential oils and dry fruits and herbal medicine.
“Ayandeh Machinery Industry Development Company” in Ardabil in the Northern part of Iran has made efforts to support gardeners and farmers in the area of production by manufacturing machines for conversion industries, including essential oil extractor and dryer devices.
“Given the large amount of waste in agricultural and garden products in the country and lack of a processing system for these products, the empty position of the transformation industries in this field is quite clear,” Hassan Abdollahzadeh, the manager of the technological unit, told ANA.
“Therefore, all efforts of the company have been focused on supporting gardeners and farmers in the field of production by manufacturing machines for conversion industries, including essential oil extractor and dryer systems,” he added.
