ISC Head: Forty-Two Iranian Universities Present at 2023 Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking
This can be taken as a significant achievement considering that 34 Iranian universities were present in the 2022 Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), according to chairman of Tehran-based Islamic World Science & Technology Monitoring and Citation Institute (ISC) Seyeyd Ahmad Fazelzadeh.
These 42 universities were present in 166 subjects, the Iranian scientific official said.
“The Shanghai Ranking System is one of the most reliable global rankings, the results of which are published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. This ranking was published as part of a large project in China for the first time in June 2003 by Shanghai University. This ranking system has also published the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) since 2017,” the ISC head further said.
He added that the 2023 GRAS contains rankings of universities in 55 subjects across Natural Sciences, Enginering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. More than 1,900 out of 5,000 universities across 104 countries and regions were finally listed in the rankings.
