IUST Appointed as Iran's Main Center for Research, Technology of Automobile Industry
Based on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Iran University of Science and Technology and Ministry of Mine, Industry and Trade, the IUST was appointed as the country's main center for research and technology of automobile industry, ANA's science & technology desk reported.
The mentioned MoU was signed on Sunday in a meeting participated by Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran Mohammad Ali Zolfigol, Minister of Mine, Industry and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin, and Davood Younesian Vice President of the IUST for research and technology.
The newly signed MoU will pave the ground for upgrading durable and scientific interaction between automobile industry and academic centers to meet research and technology demands of car industry in Iran.
There are many major local car manufacturers in the country, such as IKCO, SAIPA, Pars Khodro, Kerman, and Bahman, which manufacture a variety of different models (such as Samand, Tiba, Dena, etc.). IKCO and SAIPA are the biggest automotive manufacturers.
