Iran Exports $137 Million of Pistachios in 1st Half of Current Year

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iranian customs administration’s figures show that the country exported $137 million worth of pistachio in the first 6 months of this year, indicating an of 3% as compared to same period last year.

The total weight of pistachio exports in the 6 months of this year in the Iranian year of 1402 (March 21-September 21) was 20,000 tons, which shows a 7% increase compared to the same period last year, the figures released by the Iranian customs administration indicated.

Pistachio exports accounted for 11% of the total value of agricultural exports and 57% of the total value of non-oil exports in the 6 months of this year, the figures showed.

During that period, the highest amount of pistachio exports was to the countries of the Russian Federation with $28 million, Germany with $13.1 million, United Arab Emirates with $13 million, India with $12.8 million and Kyrgyzstan with $12.5 million. In total, 57.7% of the total value of pistachio exports was exported to the above-mentioned 5 major destinations in the 6 months of this year.
