Iran-Made Nano-Based Sealants Reduce Noise Pollution inside Car

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian nanotechnology company manufactured high-quality sealants by using polymers which can minimize noise pollution in the car.

"We are the fourth country in the world that possesses the technology to produce polymer baffles with the ability to expand to a minimum of 1,400,” said Mohammad Nour Mohammadi, the director of research and development (R&D) department of ‘Ayeq Khodro Toos’ company.

“Sound insulation sealants for the automotive industry are produced by our company which are utilized to reduce noise pollution inside the vehicle. The use of nanoparticles reduces noise pollution and the amount of noise entering the car” he added.

Nour Mohammadi noted that car body reinforcements and rubber insulators strengthened with nanotechnology are other products of the company.

Ayeq Khodro Toos company can also produce sound and vibration insulators, polymer baffles (sealants) and related products, bitumen-based magnetic insulators, and magnetic, ordinary and adhesive insulators.

Also, in addition to producing all types of sealers based on butyl, epoxy, and rubber, the company is a producer of butyl tapes, butyl-coated foam, butyl pastes, epoxy-based reinforcers, and rubber body sealant pastes in Iran.

Rubber foaming body sealant with improved rheology, butyl soundproofing body insulation with improved tensile strength and adhesion, rubber body sealant with improved rheology and body strengthening adhesive with improved flowability are among other products of the company.

Earlier this year, another Iranian nanotechnology firm in Iran had also managed to produce polymeric sealant for car body.

‘Goharfam Industrial Manufacturing’ company has been able to produce the polymeric sealant with no solvent to seal the seams and distances left between the joints in the body and inside a car.

It can prevent the penetration of water, dust, and gas inside the car and withstand the friction and vibration during the vehicle movement.

The utilization of nanoparticles inside the polymeric matrix has resulted in increased viscosity of the sealer, improvement of the sagging resistance and enhancement of the shear strength of the sealant.

The sealant can be used in the body of vehicles for connecting the panels before welding and the interior parts of a car.
