Iran Gains Self-Sufficiency in Production of Different Pumps

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian knowledge-based company succeeded in mass-production of pumps used in various industries, including in agricultural sector, bringing self-sufficiency for the country in this field despite sanctions.

“We started our activity as a knowledge-based company 10 years ago and produced pumps including electropumps and electromotors for agriculture sector. We were the first manufacturer of this equipment in Western Iran,” Sajjad Alaqehmand, the head of sales department of Rased San’at Tose’eh company, which cooperates with the Islamic Azad University’s Ahvaz branch, told ANA on the sidelines of Asreh Omid Event.

“We have also produced more than 300 pumps for various organizations, including petrochemical, oil, steel, water and sewage companies in the past few years. I have to mention that 95% of our customers were satisfied with our products,” he added.

“We have also been able to supply many parts of pumps, specially the imported agricultural pumps,” Alaqehmand said, adding that the company has helped the country gain self-sufficiency in production of different pumps and parts under sanctions.

“Our products are used for different purposes, including the agricultural pumps, submersible pumps used to drain surface water of petrochemical and oil complexes, and sewage pumps that have been installed in all sewage pumping stations in cities and different regions,” he noted.

Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 1, 2022.

The event aimed to exhibit new achievements and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Azad University.

Some 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research centers, and startups took part in Asreh Omid Event.
