“Our company produces laboratory equipment to measure the contact angle, surface tension and surface energy,” said Farshid Chini, the managing director of Sath Jikan engineering company.
Also, Kasra Shams Rafiyee, the internal manager of the company, explained that the device can be used for testing colors, coatings, glass, tiles and ceramics.
“Various tests can be performed by the device, the most important of which is testing the static contact angle which can measure the contact angle of a drop on the surface and then by image processing the properties of the surface can be assessed,” he said.
Shams Rafiyee said that 24 devices have been sold by the company so far, adding that it has also been exported to China and Turkiye, and the company is now preparing several other devices for exports.
Contact angle meters (also known as optical tensiometers or goniometers) allow direct measurements of surface tension, interfacial tension and contact angles.
Contact angle is an extremely versatile technique used for characterization of both liquids and solids.
