Iran-Made Device Detects, Assesses Explosives in 5 Seconds
“The Iranian Space Research Center has adopted an approach to identify the technological needs of other industries and include them in its production portfolio and one of the indigenized devices which has been commercialized and its production line has been launched is the drug and explosive detector,” Ahmad Soleimani, a commercialization expert of the Iranian Space Research Center, told ANA.
He explained that the device is portable and enjoys high sensitivity and capability to detect and measure explosives and narcotics in a nanogram range in five seconds.
Soleimani said that the home-made device is capable of analysis of different narcotics, adding that with ion mobility spectrometer technology, it can assess liquid and solid materials and needs less than 20 seconds to prepare again.
In a relevant development in May, a knowledge-based company in Iran had designed and produced explosion-proof heating element with applications in various industries, including oil and gas.
“The explosion-proof heating element is mostly used in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries and refineries and covers all fluids,” said Ali Jami, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.
Noting that the explosion-proof heating element is used to collect all kinds of fluids and transfer them from one place to another, oil extraction, gas activation and gas pressure reduction stations on the roads, he said, “The product has been designed and produced in different models and dimensions.”
Jami described the rod element as one of the most widely used products in the heating process, and said, “High flexibility and formability, uniform and optimal heat production, heat transfer in various working conditions, impact resistance, safety and high efficiency are among the features of this type of element.”
