Nano Pesticide Highly Effective in Controlling Pests, Producing Safe Crops
Maryam Negahban, the founder of Nano Sabz Avran Touba Company, said that the new nano-based pesticide can be used in the country's orchards and greenhouses to control pests in an effective way and to produce safe crops.
“The formulation of this plant pesticide is based on nano and microcapsules, and this technology can be used to produce a variety of low-risk pesticides free of chemical poisons. We used these nano pesticides in various pistachio orchards and in several greenhouses in the pilot experiment phase and interesting results were obtained,” the researcher said.
“I have 17 years of experience working on plant compounds and plant polymers with a focus on micro and nanoscale capsules, and since 2016 in the form of a knowledge-based company, I have been working on the commercialization of this nano pesticide. In the company, we used this nano pesticide in various orchards in Damghan, Kerman, Yazd, Shahr-e Babak and several other cities, and also on greenhouses and summer crops such as tomatoes in Varamin and other cities, and the nano pesticide proved to be really successful. In the researches carried out with the help of IRIPP, not only the effectiveness of this pesticide was proven but also no traces of poison residue were seen on the crops,” she went on to say.
