Antibacterial Nano Polymer Additive Produced in Iran for Industries
Masterbatch is a solid additive for plastic used for coloring plastics or imparting other properties to plastics.
Samira Salimi, the head of the Board of Directors of ‘Payesh C1 Polymer’ company, told ANA on the sidelines of IRANANO 2022 exhibition in Tehran that the antibacterial nano masterbatch is a polymer additives produced with modern technology that protects plastic parts against the growth of mold, fungus and bacteria.
“Specifically, the main application of this product is in the polymer industry. It can be produced on all polymer bases and it is completely indigenous and domestically-produced,” she added.
Salimi said that the product has also foreign counterparts which are presented to the market at a much higher price, adding, “At the same time, the quality is completely competitive. We hope to be able to be active in the field of export too.”
“Antibacterial nano masterbatch is uniformly mixed with all plastic materials without any color change in the final product or reduction of mechanical properties and gives them complete antimicrobial properties,” the technologist said.
“The product is used in all subsets of the plastic industry, including household appliances, textiles, packaging containers, and parts of medical equipment as well as production of toys, sanitary tools, etc,” she said, noting that it is not only antibacterial but also enjoys anti-algae, anti-moss, anti-fungal and anti-mold specifications.
The 13th Nanotechnology Festival and Exhibition (IRANANO 2022) was held in Tehran on October 1-4 with participation of over 280 knowledge-based companies active in the field of nanotechnology which had presented more than 1,200 products in different areas.
