University of Tehran Meets Need for Seeds in 15 Provinces in Iran
“According to the information we have, the faculties of agriculture and natural resources of Tehran University supplies the seeds needed by at least 15 provinces of the country,” the UT administrative and financial department director Ahmad Nohegar said in an interview with Iranian media.
He said that meeting the need for seeds in 15 provinces means that the UT meets 50% of the overall need in the country.
He attached great importance to the use of new technologies in the agricultural sector, saying, “We should strengthen the infrastructure of new technologies in the agriculture and natural resources field, especially in the food security field.”
The UT official went on to call on the relevant ministries, especially the ministry of agriculture to provide those two faculties with essential and important assistance given their services.
Nohegar further called for providing Infrastructures to those two faculties considering their capabilities and modern agriculture technology they utilize.
Regarding the country's serious challenges in the fields of water resources, drought, floods, deserts and air, he noted that the UT Faculty of Natural Resources is ready to provide scientific and research capacities to serve the country's forests and watershed management, particularly at the time of floods and drought.
