“We build different simulators for driving different cars, including sedan cars, trucks, buses and even motorcycles. We make the hardware and software all together with the help of a team of mechanical engineers, mechatronics engineers and software engineers,” Navid Faraji, a mechanical engineer at ‘Nasir Simulator’ company, told ANA on the sidelines of the IRANANO 2022 exhibition in Tehran.

The 13th Nanotechnology Festival and Exhibition (IRANANO 2022) was held in Tehran on October 1-4 with participation of over 280 knowledge-based companies active in the field of nanotechnology which had presented more than 1,200 products in different areas.

Noting that the ‘Nasir Simulator’ company has predicted different scenarios for driving in the cities and streets of Iran, Faraji said that for instance driving at Vali-e Asr street in Tehran has been simulated.

“We have made the hardware to resemble the real driving and make the driver feel the real driving to help them become ready for dangerous situations that might happen in the real world,” he added.

Asked about the IRANANO 2022 exhibition, Faraji said, “It is a very nice exhibition and it is pretty needed for the knowledge-based companies to become known in Iran and even in the region and the world.”

Driving simulators are used for entertainment as well as in training of driver's education courses taught in educational institutions and private businesses. They are also used for research purposes in the area of human factors and medical research, to monitor driver behavior, performance, and attention and in the car industry to design and evaluate new vehicles or new advanced driver assistance systems.
