Islamic Azad University’s Qazvin Branch Stands 3rd in France RoboCup 2023

TEHRAN (ANA)- Rescue agent simulation team of the MRL center of the Islamic Azad University’s Qazvin branch won the third title of the World RoboCup Championship 2023 in France.

Islamic Azad University’s Qazvin branch, representing Iran, won the third title, and the teams of China and Japan took the first and second places respectively in the league.

The rescue agent simulation team of the MRL Center of Islamic Azad University’s Qazvin branch participated in the competitions with the support of the Young Researchers and Elites Club of Iran.

The RoboCup is the world's largest robotics and artificial intelligence competition.

For more than 20 years, this event has been bringing together more than 2,500 competitors, the best researchers in these fields and thousands of visitors in a different country every year. Co-organized by the University of Bordeaux and its partners, the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bordeaux Métropole and the Bordeaux academic region, the 26th edition took place from July 4 to 10, 2023 in Bordeaux.

Visitors were able to attend competitions featuring soccer, life-saving and household robots, and take part in joint events like educational activities, workshops and round-table discussions on AI and robotics, addressing the themes of research and innovation, education, ethical and societal issues, and ecological transition.

The 26th edition of the RoboCup brought together over 15,000 participants, including 2,500 competitors from 45 countries around the world.
