Iran-Made Antibacterial Polyamide Yarn Resists Bacteria in Medical Centers
‘Tehran Zar Nakh’ company has made the product which is an oxide nanoparticles-modified polyamide yarn resisting human pathogenic bacteria. It can be used in a variety of industrial and clinical applications.
The addition of metal oxide nanoparticles to the polymeric yarn has resulted in emergence of antibacterial activity.
The nano-based yarn can be used in clothing of healthcare personnel, home clothes, including socks, mattresses, baby diapers, and coverings, medical devices, sportswear, food packaging, storage, thermal and mechanical protection, automotive textiles, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, air filters and water purification systems.
Also, last month, an Iranian nanotechnology company had produced polymeric felt produced which is capable of absorbing sound in buildings to a high extent.
‘Negin Rose Sepahan’ company used nanotechnology to make the sound-absorbing felt composed of silica aerogel and nonwoven polyester textile which can be used on the floor and body of buildings to damp the noise and acoustic losses.
The sound-absorbing material in this product is a nanostructured ceramic whose presence leads to high absorption capacity of acoustic waves at intermediate frequencies and improved acoustic and noise damping capability.
The special felt can be applied on the floor and body of residential and office buildings, recording studios, theater halls, meeting halls, cinemas, exhibitions, car, helicopter, plane, train, and ship.
