Iranian Minister Underlines Need for Using Nanotechnology in Agricultural Fields
“The exhibition is of great importance. We have a working group in the ministry called nanotechnology group which pursues using nanotechnology products in the field of agriculture,” Sadatinejad told reporters on the sidelines of the IRAN NANO 2022 Exhibition in Tehran.
“For instance, nano bubbles have been used in the poultry industry which was very fruitful. This year we plan to use nanotechnology in fruit preservation so that people can access high quality fruit,” he added.
“We welcome the achievements of nanotechnology in the agricultural area, and companies can introduce their products in this field to the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad,” Sadatinejad said.
IRAN NANO 2022 exhibition started on Saturday October 01 at Tehran Permanent International Fairground.
The event will end on Tuesday October 04.
A new international study on the countries' achievements in production of nanoscience has shown that Iran ranks 5th in the world in this field.
Former Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari said in May that the study compares countries and science and tech institutes based on a new indicator, which is “focusing on the emerging areas of technology”.
Based on the study, Iran not only ranks fifth in the world in terms of producing nanoscience, but it has given the highest level focus to the most emerging and most advanced fields of science and technology, along with four other advanced states, he added.
