Cars Transit at Bandar Lengeh in South Iran Sets New Record High

TEHRAN (ANA)- Director of Ports and Maritime Affairs Administration in the West of Hormozgan Province in the Southern part of Iran said as many as 37,000 vehicles were loaded and unloaded at Bandar Lengeh, setting a new record.

“By unloading and loading 37,000 transit vehicles, a 41% increase, Bandar Lengeh has once again set a new record high in the field of transit and transportation operations among other Iranian ports,” Morteza Salari Director of Ports and Maritime Affairs Administration in the West of Hormozgan Province said.

“The unloading and loading of this number of transit vehicles was carried out by 269 metal vessels and after going through customs operations, they were loaded to go to their destinations in Iraq, Afghanistan and also the countries in Central Asia,” he added.

 “The increase in car transit in Bandar Lengeh was achieved after some work done such as the separation of the car loading and unloading docks from those of other goods, the use of a special car loading platform, the increase in the hours of unloading vessels and the systematic activity of more than 20 companies operating in the field of car transit caused all assisted in the increase in cars transit to 37,000 vehicles in June of this year, which is considered an operational record at the country's ports.”
