“This knowledge-based group put the massive plan of smart management of refinery and petrochemical waste in a completely mechanized way using process improvement methods and suitable tools and standard enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system,” Mortazavi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company stated, after noting that main goal of their company is to improve productivity in the field of waste management.

He attached great importance to the necessity of management of waste from refinery and petrochemical because, it is very highly dangerous for health.

“Any unprincipled transportation, storage or disposal of these wastes can have destructive impact on the environment and reduce the level of quality of life and cause pollution,” Mortazavi underscored.

“It is necessary to design a waste management information system that manages the information and the data from waste storage stations, transportation vehicles and their traffic control, the record of waste producers and contractors and waste management methods… in order to reduce the risks and increase safety level in the environment,” he went on to say.

He said that the name of their product is “Comprehensive software for oil, gas, petrochemical and refinery waste management,” adding that they have now employed their software system in more than ten cities across Iran.

About the competitive advantages of their product as compared to the domestic and foreign counterparts, Mortazavi said, “This software has 13 modules, while some of these modules have no opponents. This product has a higher quality than foreign counterparts. Moreover, its price is much lower than them.”

“This software system allows the users to look at the issues related to waste in a very detailed way, so that information and data related to waste are not left until reaching one of the stages of recycling, separation, processing or recovery, and follow-up continues until the desired result is achieved. Only if it does not fit in those stages, it will be discarded,” the researcher concluded.
