UK Exports to Iran Increase by 25% in 1st Quarter of 2023
The UK Department of Business and Trade announced in its latest statistics that the country's trade with Iran in the first four months of this year of 2023 increased to 27 million pounds or 34 million dollars.
Between January and April 2023, the trade exchanges between Iran and the UK grew by 17% compared to the same period last year. Trade exchanges between the two countries in the months of January to April 2022 were recorded to be 23 million pounds.
The UK imports from Iran in the first four months of this year were 7 million pounds equivalent to 9 million dollars, showing no change compared to the same period last year.
But the UK exports to Iran from January to April 2023 witnessed an increase by 25% and reached 20 million pounds equal to 25 million dollars. The UK had exported 16 million pounds worth of goods to Iran during the same period last year.
According to the report, the trade value of the two countries in 2022 increased by 72% compared to the previous year and reached 696 million pounds.
