Veterinary Pharmacies Using Iran-Made Livestock, Poultry Probiotic Supplements
“Our company has indigenized the production of livestock and poultry probiotic supplements and provide the needs of the country and the Middle East by using advanced production equipment, setting up specialized laboratories, and quality control in accordance with the latest international standards,” said Massoud Sokhangou, the director of the knowledge-based firm.
“The products of our company are presented in five main categories of human probiotic supplements, animal probiotic supplements (in livestock, poultry and aquatic fields, probiotics for horse consumption and bee probiotics), food probiotics, dairy starters and probiotics, and cosmetic and health products,” he added.
“Now the probiotic supplements produced in our company are distributed in veterinary pharmacies in different provinces of Iran with the measures adopted to introduce and promote these biological supplements,” Sokhangou said.
In a relevant development in May, an Iranian knowledge-based company had also managed to produce probiotic yeasts that meet needs of the country.
Probiotic supplements and yeasts are among the products based on biotechnology and are considered essential for health.
Probiotic yeasts can be used for the production of various fermented foods, enhancing their nutritional and sensory properties.
The company is active in the field of large livestock including cows, sheep, horses, and goats as well as poultry, aquatic animals, and bees, Ahmad Khosroshahi, the managing director of the company, said.
“We are trying to improve the breeding of these animals by using the products so that their consumption by humans is associated with the least harm.”
He referred to the production of probiotic yeasts for livestock and poultry as one of the research fields of the company, adding that the production of probiotic supplements is another field of activity.
He pointed out that since it is not possible to eliminate all the harmful bacteria and also because of the resistance created by the use of antibiotics, the company has produced probiotic supplements and yeasts to increase the beneficial bacteria in the living environment of humans and animals.
