Knowledge-Based Firms Ink Dozens of MoUs to Contribute to Development of Deprived Regions

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iran's Knowledge-based companies signed dozens of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and contracts during AbadIran Exhibition in Sirjan city to contribute to the development of deprived regions in Iran.

“Concluding 131 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), 53 contracts on purification and water supply projects in 200 villages with the help of knowledge-based equipment, equipping a thousand schools with the help of technologists, and implementing 100 knowledge-based job generation projects were some of the achievements made during the first edition of AbadIran Exhibition,” Hamidrza Shokri, the secretary of the exhibition said, according to a report by the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy said.

The first edition of AbadIran (advanced and prosperous Iran) which was inaugurated on June 13, 2023 at Tehran's Grand Mosalla gathered over 300 knowledge-based companies with the best ideas to eradicate poverty and deprivation from the country via technology.
The event was organized by the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy with the contribution of 28 public, government and private organizations and institutions.

According to Shokri, the Vice Presidency also signed agreements and MoUs with some government institutions, which are as follows:
•    An agreement between the Vice Presidency and the School Renovation Organization to equip a thousand schools with the help of the country's innovative ecosystem technologists;
•    Memorandum of Understanding between the Vice Presidency and the ministry of energy’s department of water supply for desalinating and supplying drinking water to 200 villages with the help of knowledge-based companies;
•    The agreement of the Vice Presidency with Omid Entrepreneurship Fund to grant facilities to knowledge-based companies operating in the field of removing deprivation;
•    Memorandum of Understanding between the Vice Presidency and Alavi Foundation on using capabilities of knowledge-based companies in matters related to that foundation;
•    Memorandum of Understanding between the Vice Presidency and the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee for implementation of 100 knowledge-based job generation projects with the aim of creating 30,000 jobs.
“In addition, “Daneshmand” or “Scientist” Research and Development Institute and Alavi Foundation concluded 60 MoUs worth 1,080 billion Rials (Iranian currency),” according to the secretary of AbadIran exhibition.
