A gel that is added to serum-separating tubes (SSTs) which separates blood serum to accelerate blood coagulation, is one of the most important substances added to the blood sample tubes. The researchers at one of the knowledge-based companies in Iran have achieved the formulation for producing the important gel.

Adel Samadi, the manager of one of the knowledge-based companies operating in the field of health said in an interview with Iranian media that the production of raw materials and products used in the medical and health industries, including blood serum separating gels and blood collection tubes for the preparation of blood serum and blood coagulation accelerators, are among the achievements that their company has so far made.

“Among the most important additives used in these tubes is the gel that separates blood serum and also accelerates blood coagulation, which we have produced with high quality,” he continued.

Samadi attached great importance to SSTs as a critical equipment needed in each country's medical sector, adding, “Many blood tests require the separation of blood serum, so we produced blood serum separating gel.”

pointing to the advantages of the gel their company's product has over foreign-made imported equivalents, the managing director of the Iranian knowledge-based company explained,

“These additives must come with stable and fixed quality, viscosity and accurate specific weight. Furthermore, their influence on blood parameters must be zero. This is while it can be seen that the stability of quality in products imported is not good at all. In different cargos that are imported by different companies, either their viscosity of the additives has changed, or other favored properties have not been taken care of.”

"The gels produced in this company meet the standards and have no effect on the blood samples at all,” he emphasized.
