Hamed Farahmand, the managing director of the knowledge-based company  of "Arsha Sanat Fartek" which is based at the Islamic Azad University, Kerman branch, told ANA on the sidelines of Asr-e Omid exhibition in Sirjan that their company’s technical team changed the design of a drilling rig for the first time in Iran and added five meters to its course length.

He added that they had to add to the length as it was needed by a drilling rig at Gol Gohare SIrjan company.

Farahmand said that changing the length of the course device could have made it unstable and it required taking a series of mechanical measures. For that, he said, they used Russians experience to increase the length of the course by changing its design.

He added that they worked on an already made course and changed its design to make it longer at Kerman Azad University-Kerman branch.

According to the technological researcher, the course device is used in the drilling rig in a way that it breaks the rock in the mine during drilling. It does the digging action and pulls the rocks out of the mine to check whether the rock is suitable for harvesting or not to harvest it later, he added

Farahmand went on to say that the course device works exactly like oil drilling rigs in a way that it has a cutting tool that goes to a certain depth and performs the drilling and pulls the rock out of the ground.

He added that the course device used by an American company was low and not suitable for mining and for that reason, they changed the design and used it in digging and checking rocks.

The researcher further pointed out that the other activity they did in their firm was the full design of sodium fuel storage at the giant Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex in Kerman. He added that they did from zero to 100% of the design of the concrete under it, the fuel tank and electricity storage of the machine within a month.

He continued to say that as their third project, they fixed the main furnace at the Kerman Cement Company which had a big crack on its shell and they repaired it.

“The furnace was not working. the Kerman cement plant would have to close for a long time, had not been for our help,” Farahmand noted adding, “We repaired the furnace after we discovered the crack on the shell and examined the loose belt design that caused problems in the Kerman cement furnace, and we are doing the design of the belt for the first time in Iran.”

“We did these three activities in the industrial and mining fields through reverse engineering method. We have done many other reverse engineering activities; but the most significant of them were those three activities I said,” managing director of the knowledge-based company Arsha Sanat Fartek concluded.

Asr-e Omid (Age of Hope) exhibition was held on the campus of Islamic Azad University-Sirjan branch in the city of Sirjan located in the Southeastern Kerman Province on May 22-June 1, 2023.
