Iranian Knowledge-Based Company’s Product Removes Dust to Increase Productivity in Mining Industry

TEHRAN (ANA)- Researchers at a knowledge-based company in Iran succeeded in making a product called ‘Rolic’ which is utilized in mining industry to narrow down dust penetration and also prevents mining machinery's bearings from locking.

“The main problem of the rollers is the dust in the mines, and considering this problem, we assessed the problems of the industry and finally used plastic dust collectors to remove the dust,” Amir Hossein Zarif, the managing director of the knowledge-based company stationed at the incubator center of the Islamic Azad University’s Mashhad branch, told ANA.

He noted that rollers which exist in the market face many problems and failure, their cost is very high and their quality is poor, adding, “With the new ‘Rolic’ product, the breakdown of production lines will decrease and production will increase.”

Zarif explained that an Italian company has also produced ‘Rolic’ products, “but it is not as good as the quality of the product made by our company and even its price is five times higher than the Iran-made products”.

In a relevant development in May, Hossein Ali Lazemi, a professor in the mining department of Islamic Azad University’s Bafq branch, and his colleagues made a research group to improve the technical know-how and increase the productivity in the mining sector.

Lazemi, who has a master's in rock mechanics field from Amirkabir University and a PhD in this field from the science and research branch of Islamic Azad University, has over 24 years of executive, educational and research experiences in the mining sector.

“Nowadays, due to the industries' need to raw materials and the high volume of mineral extraction, mining in different geological conditions and at different depths is inevitable; therefore, it is important and necessary to know the behavior of the earth in order to find an optimal and safe extraction method,” Lazemi told ANA.

“Our research group can provide the basis for improving the technical know-how of open pit and underground mining and play an important role in increasing productivity and safe mining,” he added.

“In order to understand the behavior of the earth in structures, behavioral graph tools and equipment are needed, and we can indigenize building such equipment by research work. Therefore, the main field of our activity is focused on technical know-how and making equipment which help to understand the behavior of the earth,” Lazemi said.
