Iran-Made Knowledge-Based Titanium Products, Anatomical Plates Treat Hundreds of Patients
“The knowledge-based company ‘Atra Orthoped’ in Orumiyeh is the manufacturer of orthopedic implants, spine and neck, and anatomical plates,” Mohammad Hossein Baqerzadeh, the head of the board of directors of the Iranian company, told ANA.
"Our knowledge-based company's products include those in the field of trauma bone implant, medical equipment, foot bone implants (wrist, heel and toes), bone external fixators, spine bone implants and surgical instruments. The mentioned products are produced independently and sold under the brand of Orumiyeh Atra Orthoped," he added.
Baqerzadeh said that the DHS locking plate system, proximal medial tibia plate four and a half, low contact plate three and a half, washer and locking clavicle plate are other products of the company.
“Specialized design of titanium calcaneal plate, designing conical spinal screw threads for easier placement and better locking, negative-angle design for nut to prevent it from loosening, anodization of all titanium products, forging of DCS and DHS titanium plates, electropolishing of certain products to create an antibacterial surface, the design of the fixer for the angular plaques, which made it possible to produce the product with a three-axis machine instead of a five-axis machine, are among the measures adopted by the Iranian company to upgrade the quality of the manufactured products,” he added.
Noting that so far, no breakages, errors and complications have been observed in the company's products and they are produced with the best quality and exported to the markets in Russia, Republic of Azerbaijan and Iraq, Baqerzadeh said that two types of plaques have also been invented for the use of injured war veterans in cooperation with the University of Tehran and Iran University of Medical Sciences, and so far 200 patients have undergone surgery and were treated.
