Mohammad Hossein Falah, the deputy head of Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute,  told Iranian media in an interview that the annual need for poultry vaccines is something between 9 and 10 billion doses in Iran.

Noting that Razi Institute's capability to meet the country's demand, he added, Razi Institute produced about 4.2 billion doses of the vaccines for viral diseases in birds last year.

This manager also emphasized that there are no limits to domestic production and about one billion doses of poultry vaccines are stored in the warehouses of Razi Institute now beyond the domestic needs.

Falah noted that while the foreign sanctions have made it difficult to import foreign-made vaccines from overseas through putting hurdles in the way of paying financial bills for the imports, Razi has met domestic needs for the poultry vaccines and there have been no shortages in that regard in Iran.

He further stressed that Razi Institute has the capability to increase the production of poultry vaccines and will definitely take action if there is scarcity in that regard.
