Iran’s Export to Africa Rises 40% in 5 Months
"In the first five months of the current year, 1,354,000 tons of goods valued $741, 122, 922 were exchanged between Iran and the African continent, of which the share of exports to 37 African countries was 1,311,647 tons worth $696,731,412 and the share of imports was 42,629 tons of goods and commodities valued at $44,391,510 from 19 African states," Latifi said.
He added that South Africa with $212,740 and an increase of 203 percent, Mozambique with $105,292 and an increase of 511 percent, Sudan with $85,283 with a growth of 374 percent, Nigeria with $81mln and a growth of 334 percent and Ghana with $76,500 were the top five destinations for Iranian goods in trade with the African continent in the first five months of the current Iranian year.
“The country’s Export have grown by 40 percent and imports by 147 percent with 55 African countries compared to the same period last year," Latifi said.
Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Alireza Peymanpak announced in April that Iran's exports of non-oil products to South Africa was considerably increased during the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2022).
"Iran's non-oil exports registered a 500-percent growth during last Iranian year (March 21, 2021-March 20, 2022) registered a 500-percent," Peymanpak said.
He reiterated that Iran's exports to South Africa last year showed a considerable growth as compared to its previous year's corresponding period.
Peymanpak put the value of Iran's export of products to South Africa at $48 billion for last year while the country imported $53 billion worth of products from South Africa.
