Knowledge-Based Companies in Iran Using Customs Duty Exemptions
Based on an official report, over 2,887 services have been provided to applicants in the fields of customs clearance, order registration, foreign exchange supply, and other issues so far.
Iran’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology has been resolved in recent years to facilitate the access of knowledge-based firms to the goods, laboratory equipment, and machinery, which is not intended to increase imports but is aimed at strengthening national production.
Given the fact that many knowledge-based companies are considered small and medium-sized engaged in financial restrictions, support packages in the field of taxation, customs and social security can help them take the initial steps more strongly.
In the same line, Former Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari highlighted his organization’s strategy to support the domestic knowledge-based and innovative companies.
Sattari stressed the need to settle the country’s problems with scientific methods and considering the domestic ecosystem.
The Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology is currently pursuing two major strategies simultaneously, namely the development of knowledge-based and innovative companies and the promotion of soft technologies, he added at the time.
