Organic Rat Killer Baits Produced by Iranian Researchers

Alireza Motavallizadeh-Kakhaki, the director of the research center, said residential, agricultural, and administrative units, as well as farms and gardens, are always grappling with rodents which incur great losses to their products.

Conventional rat and mouse poisons, or rodenticides, pose a serious risk to public health and the environment. These are toxic products that cause severe health damage and even death in nontarget wildlife, pets, and people.

Because of their toxicity and the weak safety standards for their use and distribution, rodenticides are a serious threat to any living thing that accidentally ingests them.

“However, the Iranian-made product with the brand of “Shetab Rat Killer Baits” is fully organic and, unlike many other poisonous rodenticides, has not any negative effect on the environment,” he added.

“Eating the bait causes inflammation in mice’s intestines, leading to lethargy and the gradual death of the rodents in their dens. This is one of the unique features of the product which does not let the body of the mice remain in the environment,” Motavallizadeh-Kakhaki stressed.

Shetab Rat Killer Baits are not also harmful to humans. They just attract rats and mice, specially the mice that are frequently seen in houses, offices, and farms.
