Knowledge-Based Company in Iran Exporting Home-Made Qualified Polymer Products to Repair Road Asphalt
Researchers of a knowledge-based company in Varamin’s Charmshahr industrial zone succeeded in the development of polymeric products with the capability of repairing damaged asphalt of streets and roads after 13 years of research.
The company has been able to conduct large projects at Isfahan and Shiraz airports in a way that the two airports do not need any asphalt renovation after more than five years.
In this method, maintenance costs of the asphalt can be significantly reduced without the need for special equipment only by using the special polymers.
The advantages of using asphalt renovation polymers have made many foreign countries from the Persian Gulf littoral states to European countries to become the customers of the Iranian knowledge-based company’s products.
Maysam Taqavifar, the managing director of the company, said that he had started the process of producing polymer materials since 13 years ago and has acquired the technology in 2016.
“Nowadays, modified bitumen has gained an important position in construction projects. Adding polymer to the bitumen leaves positive effects on bitumen specifications and its performance at high and low temperature,” he added.
Noting that the Iranian knowledge-based company exports its product to the foreign states, Taqavifar said, “Fortunately, our company has been able to export the product to France and Turkey. Also, Iraq and the UAE are our regular customers. Qatar also uses our products in many of its road and transportation projects.”
A senior Iranian academic official said last year that the country stood atop other regional states in development of polymer industry science.
“Iran’s scientific ranking in the polymer industry is first in West Asia and 18th in the world,” Head of Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute (IPPI) Mehdi Nikoumanesh said.
He added that Iran also enjoys highly professional experts in polymer industry at present, stressing the need for universities to admit more students in this field.

Thanks for your comment. I think the country's Road Ministry should be interested in concluding a contract with the mentioned knowledge-based company to buy its products to utilize them in road-repairing operation. The ministry may have done it.
