Iran Witnessing Threefold Growth of Knowledge-Based Companies
Based on the official figures, total number of Iran's knowledge-based companies has surpassed 7,312 which says the country has been witnessing a threefold growth in this regard.
It is worth to say that the main reason behind such an eye-catching record can be increasing the amount of banking facilities as well as other government's supports.
The newly-established knowledge-based companies are busy active in various fields including agriculture, biotechnology and food industry, medicine and advanced products in the field of diagnosis and treatment, advanced materials and products based on chemical technologies, advanced machinery and equipment, devices, necessities and medical equipment, electrical and electronic hardware, laser and photonics, information and communication technology and computer software, commercialization services, cultural, innovative, humanities and social sciences industries.
It should be mentioned that electronic and electric hardware, laser and photonics, information and communication technology and computer software have been pioneer in the mentioned unprecedented growth and have attracted more knowledge-based companies in comparison with other fields.
In the meantime, 4,743 production knowledge-based companies and 2,569 new knowledge-based companies have been registered since March 21, 2022.
It should be explained that knowledge-based companies have been categorized into two main parts of production knowledge-based companies and new knowledge-based companies. This model of division has been managed based on kind of activity, complexity and technological importance in three grades of one, two and three.
Production knowledge-based companies are those which have operational revenue in their latest tax returns provided that their activities have been categorized in the superior technologies field but the new knowledge-based companies are those which have not presented their tax return or have not thus far earned any revenue.
