Javad Mohammadi, the head of the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, said university students and academics play a key role in the country’s great achievements.

Veterinary diagnostic test kits can be used for gene expression profiling, target DNA quantification, microbial detection, and viral or bacterial pathogen load determination, and it is very helpful in the evaluation of primer pair performance for probe-based real-time PCR.

In terms of science, the future of the country, despite the wide range of sanctions, depends on the ability of young people and brilliant students, Mohammadi added.

The Iranian young scientists have so far made amazing progress in the field of stem cells, biotechnology, and nuclear energy, which has led to self-sufficiency in these areas, he highlighted.

“Thanks to the good relationship between the academic and the industry sectors, the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology has prepared the ground for employment of students of this research institute so that the students can benefit from the achievements of the researchers of the institute,” he went on to say.

In order to create jobs, the half-finished building of the research institute has been completed for the presence of knowledge-based companies for semi-industrial productions, he explained.

Meanwhile, students can set up knowledge-based companies in the research institute with the participation of faculty members, he added.

The head of the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology went on to say that the Institute has signed a number of memoranda of understanding with companies active in the field of food.
