Iran Test-Fires New Cutting-Edge Surface-to-Surface Home-Made Missile
"In the second phase of the Eqtedar 1401 military exercise of the Army Ground Force, the missile units launched Fatah 360 surface-to-surface missile for the first time," Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Amir Nozar Nemati said.
He further said that the launched missile successfully hit and destroyed the intended target.
"The missile units of the Army Ground Force also managed to launch another surface-to-surface missile dubbed Fajr 5," the commander added.
"Fatah 360 missile, whose flying speed can reach to 3 Mach, can be utilized against strategic targets. Fatah 360 enjoys capability of communicating with satellites for rapid navigation. The missile's speed while hitting the target reaches to 4 Mach," the Iranian General went on to say.
"The launcher of Fatah 360 fires 6 missiles simultaneously with extraordinary destructive power and high accuracy, and after firing, they track and destroy a common target," the commander added.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made substantial headway in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the weaponry sphere.
Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that the country will not hesitate to boost its military capabilities, including its missile and drone power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiation.
