Baqaei calls EU’s human rights concerns over Iran ‘purest form of hypocrisy’

In a post on X on Saturday, Baqaei questioned how the EU could claim a commitment to human rights while supporting what he described as lethal aggression targeting civilians and critical infrastructure in Iran.

He also accused the EU of refusing to condemn what he called blatant war crimes and remaining silent over the deaths of Iranian children in attacks carried out with American and Israeli weapons, which he said were enabled by European logistical and technical support.

“This is not merely a loss of credibility. It is the banality of evil — and the purest form of hypocrisy,” Baqaei said.

The remarks came a day after the EU foreign policy chief announced new sanctions against several Iranian judges over alleged human rights violations.
