Ecosystem of Technology, Innovation of Healthy Food Kicks Off Work in Iran

“The infrastructure of this network consists of science and technology parks, research centers, including the national research and technology network of food science and industry, municipality, industrial towns, private sector, knowledge-based companies, financial institutions, technological companies with research and development capabilities and related organizations,” Seyed Mohammad Ali Razavi, the head of the research institute of food science and industry, said.

He referred to the goals of setting up the ecosystem, and said finding the macro priorities of the country in the field of food safety and security and turning into the operational scientific arm for implementing the country’s macro policies, providing technological and knowledge-based services from the ecosystem to food industry units, setting up campuses specialized in the field of food industry to create a value chain, establishing connections with industrial and capable centers to transfer technological findings to the country's food industry, preventing parallel work in implementation of applied research and using the know-how capacity of the ecosystem are among the goals.

“Creating networks among the main actors of the ecosystem, including the research centers, knowledge-based companies, food industry and technology centers of other advisory bodies, with the aim of using their capacity in the development of the ecosystem and creating an atmosphere of cooperation to find the needs and prioritized knowledge-based products based on the land survey document are among the other goals of the ecosystem,” Razavi said.
