Iranian foreign minister holds talks with Iraqi counterpart in baghdad
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Baghdad on Sunday for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments.
During the visit, Araghchi held talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, with discussions focusing on expanding ties between Tehran and Baghdad, as well as addressing key issues affecting the region.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the visit also includes consultations with senior Iraqi officials on a range of bilateral and geopolitical matters.
A major item on the agenda is coordination with Iraqi authorities regarding arrangements for commemoration ceremonies honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, at Iraq's holy shrines.
The two sides are also expected to review ongoing regional developments and explore ways to enhance cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
