Iran’s Permanent Mission to International Organizations in Vienna announced on Friday that the ambassadors and permanent representatives of Iran, China, and Russia held a joint meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi to review topics scheduled for discussion at the next Board of Governors session.

According to the mission, the talks focused on matters set to be addressed during the board meeting, which is due to begin on Monday.

The IAEA Secretariat has indicated that the agenda will include issues related to the implementation of Iran’s safeguards obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), as well as relevant resolutions adopted by the United Nations Security Council.

The meeting comes shortly after Grossi submitted his latest report to the Board of Governors. In the report, the IAEA chief requested access to Iranian nuclear facilities that have reportedly sustained damage.

The request has drawn attention amid criticism that the agency’s director general has yet to publicly condemn attacks targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, which Tehran has described as unlawful.
