In a statement posted on its X account on Friday, the embassy challenged the credibility of the accusations, emphasizing that national security is a universally respected pillar in both Iran and Germany. The embassy statement reads:

“‘Security’ is in every country, whether in Iran or in Germany, a necessary and respectable matter. However, unfounded accusations against Iran on orders from Iran's enemies and the repetition of worn-out clichés merely lead to the discrediting of the legal institutions of the accusing side. If, moreover, the protection of Jewish institutions and centers, as well as the protection of all sites of the Abrahamic religions, is a generally recognized principle—which it undoubtedly is—then the military attack by the Israeli regime in April 2026 on the Rafi'-Nia-#Synagoge in Tehran should also be perceived and condemned with the same sensitivity.”

The diplomatic mission underscored that the protection of religious sites is a principle that must be applied consistently. By highlighting the April 2026 strike on the synagogue in Tehran by the Israeli regime, the embassy called for a standardized international response, urging stakeholders to apply the same level of concern and condemnation to attacks on religious centers in Iran as they do elsewhere.

German federal prosecutors said they brought criminal charges against a Danish and an Afghan national suspected of plotting to assassinate Jewish figures in Germany. By linking this alleged plot to Iran, German authorities have prompted a formal rebuttal from the Iranian Embassy in Berlin.
