IRGC Navy Issues Renewed Warning Over Attacks on Iranian Oil Tankers
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Command has reiterated its warning against any hostile actions targeting Iranian oil tankers and commercial vessels, stating that such moves would be met with severe retaliation.
In a separate development, the IRGC Navy announced on Friday that its elite forces had opened fire on US naval destroyers.
The action, it said, was carried out in response to what it described as a ceasefire violation and an aggressive incident involving an Iranian oil tanker near the southern port of Jask.
According to the statement, the US destroyers had moved toward the Strait of Hormuz prior to the incident. The IRGC added that during a coordinated operation, its forces targeted the vessels using a range of anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles, alongside explosive-laden drones.
