Trump evacuated after gunfire disrupts White House correspondents’ dinner
(Tehran Ana)- US President Donald Trump was rushed from a Washington, DC event after shots were fired outside the venue, prompting a swift security response, though he and other officials were unharmed.
Trump was rushed out of the Washington Hilton hotel on Saturday evening after gunshots were heard outside the ballroom where the president and the first lady had been seated before the start of the annual media gala.
Trump, the first lady and his Cabinet were unharmed, Al Jazeera reported.
In a news conference after the incident, Trump said a man had charged a security checkpoint, armed with multiple weapons, and was “taken down” by the Secret Service.
