Iran FM Araghchi Says End to War Depends on US Halting Aggression
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the continuation or end of the war depends on the United States halting its aggression against Iran and restraining Israeli actions in the region, in a phone call with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.
He described 40 days of what he called unlawful attacks by the US and Israel since February 28, while stressing Iran’s support for mediation efforts aimed at a ceasefire in West Asia.
Araghchi said real progress requires Washington to stop escalation and fulfill its commitments to end hostilities. He also thanked Spain for its position condemning the attacks and supporting international law.
Spain’s foreign minister reaffirmed opposition to war and called for intensified diplomatic efforts to restore regional stability.
