Moussawi: Only Armed Resistance Can Deter Israeli Actions in Lebanon
According to ANA News Agency, al-Moussawi stated that Israeli forces are attempting to advance into several areas in southern Lebanon, but Islamic Resistance fighters are confronting them along defensive lines.
He added that responding to Israeli actions can only be achieved through fighting and resistance, stressing that there is no alternative means of deterrence. He also described the current situation of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon as “good,” highlighting its ability to carry out well-planned ambushes against enemy forces.
Al-Moussawi further said that Israeli forces are working to destroy infrastructure in southern Lebanon, but emphasized that attempts to fragment the region would not weaken the resistance’s performance in any way.
He noted that Lebanon is not far removed from what he described as a broader Israeli settlement project, arguing that Israeli forces have effectively fallen into a “trap” in southern Lebanon—an assessment he said is supported by statements from some Israeli officials.
He also claimed that Israel is completely concealing its losses in the battles in southern Lebanon. Concluding his remarks, al-Moussawi said that more than 100 Israeli tanks have been destroyed by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, asserting that Israeli forces are suffering heavy losses in both personnel and equipment amid the ongoing conflict in the south.
