Arab Analyst: U.S. Cannot Sustain a Long War Against Iran

Political writer Hassan Hardan says the United States lacks the economic and political capacity for a prolonged confrontation with Iran, warning that a war of attrition would ultimately harm Washington’s strategic interests.

According to ANA News Agency, Arab political writer and researcher Hassan Hardan said that Tehran possesses the capabilities and resources to continue a conflict for months if necessary.

He noted that the United States, however, is unlikely to be able to sustain a prolonged war economically or politically. Hardan added that Washington has relied on attempts to provoke public opinion and encourage separatist groups in order to advance its plans.

However, he said the recent public demonstrations and the visible participation of Iranian citizens indicate that such efforts have failed. The well-known Arab analyst further stressed that despite what he described as the brutality of U.S. and Israeli attacks on residential areas and children, the continuation of the conflict would ultimately lead to Iran’s victory.

Hardan also argued that former U.S. President Donald Trump’s assessments regarding entering a war with Iran were based on inaccurate intelligence allegedly provided by Iranian opposition groups and certain security agencies linked to Israel.

He concluded that the current developments in Iran represent, in his view, a continuation of a broader U.S. strategy aimed at eliminating the “Axis of Resistance” in the region—an effort that, he said, accelerated following the events of October 7.
