Iran Vows Continued Self-Defense Amid U.S.–Israeli Strikes
(Tehran Ana)- Iran’s UN ambassador warned that Tehran will maintain firm defensive measures as long as the U.S.–Israeli attacks continue, stressing that its military actions target only combatant forces.
Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani emphasized that Iran’s response will remain strong and proportionate, directed solely at hostile military forces. He reassured that civilians and the interests of neighboring countries will not be targeted.
Iravani further stated that Iran does not seek war or escalation but will defend its sovereignty under any circumstances. “While the violation persists, Iran will act swiftly and resolutely to protect itself,” he asserted, according to Press TV.
Analysts suggest that Tehran’s statements signal a calculated approach: demonstrating resolve while avoiding broader regional escalation, framing its response as defensive rather than offensive.
