A Night of Fire and Fury: IRGC Expands Operation True Promise 4

In its 13th statement regarding Operation True Promise 4, the IRGC said its naval forces launched the assault in the early hours of Tuesday. According to the statement, the attack targeted the U.S. military installation at Sheikh Isa Air Base and involved a coordinated deployment of 20 drones and three missiles.

The IRGC announced the projectiles struck designated targets with precision, resulting in the destruction of the main command and staff building at the airbase. The statement further asserted that fuel storage facilities were set ablaze, producing flames and heavy smoke visible from a distance.

Separately, Iranian authorities announced that Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred following what they described as a joint attack by Israel and the United States on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.

In response, the Cabinet declared a 40-day period of national mourning and announced seven days of public holidays to commemorate the Leader of the Revolution.
