Iran-Made Smart Sensor Capable of Reducing Water Consumption by 60%
By using these smart optical sensors, water consumption can be decreased by 60 percent, Eng. Ghanizadeh, the director of the center, said.
Optical smart sensors have a great impact on controlling and managing water consumption in offices and residential units as well as administrative and commercial buildings.
“Considering that today we are facing a water shortage crisis, maybe there will be a war over water in the future. So, managing water consumption is very important.”
These smart optical sensors are designed with high quality and are produced at a lower cost, Ghanizadeh said, adding that conventional optical sensors in the market are priced at over 40 million rials (about $130).
This is while the sensors produced by the company are sold at just five million rials.
Considering that water consumption is high in urban areas, to control water consumption, it is necessary to make irrigation of green spaces smart.
It means that there is no need for a person to irrigate anymore. Using the smart optical sensors, the accuracy of irrigation will be increased and water will be sprayed in green spaces based as long as required.
Another system designed by the company is for instant water purification which can recycle the consumed water.
A person may consume about 100 to 200 liters of water on average for bathing. The consumed water is returned to the cycle of nature through sewage.
The water purifier can provide 5 to 10 liters of water in the tank to be used for washing and then the water will return to the tank.
Finally, instead of consuming 200-300 liters of water for bathing, just five liters of water will be consumed.
