Iran and Russia Collaborate on Seven Oil Fields Under Four Contracts
Speaking at the 19th meeting of the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission, Paknejad highlighted that the seven oil fields are under active development by Russian companies, reflecting the deepening energy partnership between the two nations.
The minister emphasized the unusual timing between the 18th and 19th commission meetings, both held within the same Iranian calendar year, describing it as a “unique opportunity” to expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

Paknejad noted that beyond economic benefits, the joint projects carry strategic importance on the international stage, strengthening ties between Tehran and Moscow amid a shifting global energy landscape.
He also praised the role of Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, whose active engagement and oversight were crucial in turning prior agreements into concrete implementations, reinforcing the momentum of bilateral collaboration in the energy sector.
