Araghchi: Massive February 11 Rally Proves Iran’s Rights ‘Non-Negotiable’

TEHRAN (ANA)- Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the massive February 11 rally and large-scale public mobilization across the country sent a clear message to the world: Iran’s rights, sovereignty, and national dignity are not subject to negotiation or pressure.

In a message posted on X early Thursday, Araghchi referred to the millions who participated in nationwide rallies marking the 47th anniversary of what many scholars describe as “the last great revolution of the 20th century.” He portrayed the large-scale demonstrations as a renewed expression of public support for the Islamic Republic’s core principles.

“As millions of Iranians once again demonstrated today, our rights and our dignity are not up for sale,” he wrote.

The foreign minister reflected on the significant challenges Iran has faced in recent decades, particularly over the past year. He described the period as one marked by extraordinary pressure, including what he called unprecedented aggression by two nuclear-armed states, followed by a major terrorist operation. Despite these developments, Araghchi said, the Islamic Republic has remained steadfast.

He attributed this resilience to domestic support rather than reliance on foreign governments, stressing that Iran’s strength is rooted in its own people.

Looking ahead, Araghchi expressed hope that the coming year would be marked by “peace and tranquility,” underscoring that Tehran favors dialogue over conflict.

While reaffirming that diplomacy remains Iran’s preferred course, he said a fair and balanced agreement on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program remains achievable. However, he emphasized that Iran will defend its sovereignty at any cost if necessary.
