Erdogan Says Turkey Ready to Mediate Between Iran and US Amid Rising Tensions
TEHRAN (ANA)- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has voiced Ankara’s willingness to play a facilitating role between Iran and the United States, as he discussed bilateral relations and growing regional military tensions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a telephone conversation to review the status of relations between Turkey and Iran and to exchange views on recent regional developments, particularly the escalation of military tensions across the region.
During the call, Erdogan underscored Turkey’s readiness to contribute to easing tensions between Tehran and Washington, stating that Ankara is prepared to act as a facilitator to help address outstanding issues and prevent further escalation.
The Turkish president also noted that he is scheduled to meet later in the day with Iran’s foreign minister, who is currently on an official visit to Turkey, as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements between the two sides.
