“This year, for the first time, over 12,000 people attended the Technology Olympic, including teams from foreign countries in addition to Iranian participants,” Mehdi Saffarinia said.

Noting that over a thousand people from other countries participated in the event, he said, “The competitions were held in 6 areas of cybersecurity, warrior robots, artificial intelligence, programming, and Internet of Things, among which the programming area had the largest number of participants (5,000 people in 4 leagues).”

“One of the programs of this Olympics was to create job opportunities and connect young elites with knowledge-based industries and companies, and in the 4 days of the Technology Olympics, more than 200 job opportunities were introduced by 60 companies. And various academic and industrial tours were also held,” Saffarinia said.

In relevant remarks in October, Saffarinia had stressed that the event would focus on individuals, particularly students and young talents, who will take part in competitive challenges designed to help them identify their strengths and improve their weaknesses.

“This is a dynamic and competitive environment that attracts young people,” he said, noting that it helps them assess their abilities against others, gain visibility, and better prepare for the job market—whether through entrepreneurship or by joining university-affiliated companies.

Highlighting the event’s growing international reach, Saffarinia noted that while the first edition was held at the national level last year, this year’s competition has already drawn over 1,000 global participants, far exceeding expectations.

“Through strong planning, we’ve taken a major step toward internationalization in just our second year,” he said.

Saffarinia added that the 2025 Tech Olympics will challenge participants to solve real-world problems faced by organizations and companies.
